Q – When is the FM 'Burn the Bird' Thanksgiving Day Run?
A – The 5K run/walk and 10K run is scheduled for Thursday, November 28, 2024 (Thanksgiving Day). The 5K run/walk & 10K run will start at 8:30 AM
Q- Where will the FM Burn the Bird' Thanksgiving Day Run take place?
A – The start-line is located on the North side of the YMCA of the Northern Sky, 200 1st Ave South, Fargo, ND. The route runs South through the Hawthorne & Clara Barton School neighborhoods and will return to finish at the same location as the starting line. The 10K route will split from the 5K route at about 1.75 miles and work its way to a turn around point in Lindenwood park. The 5K & 10K will both finish at the Fercho YMCA.
Q – How will I know my time?
A – Both races will be chip timed with results posted on our website. There will be a display clock at the finish line for you to check your time.
Q - What is included in my registration?
A – Runners/walkers will receive a custom designed T-shirt, custom designed BTB Medal, fruit, muffins, hot chocolate, and hot coffee back at the YMCA.
Q - Can I push my child in a stroller? Do I need to register them?
A - Yes, we love having the kids out there in stroller. No, you do not need to register them unless you want them to receive a shirt & medal
Q-Is there a packet pickup?
A- Packets will be available on Wednesday, November 27th at the Fercho YMCA from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM. The day of the run packet pickup will be at the YMCA of the Northern Sky from 7:00 AM – 8:15 AM.
Q- Can I register the day of the event?
A- You will NOT be able to register on Thanksgiving Day, Walk-up registration at the YMCA will only be available on Wednesday, November 27th during packet pickup from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM. You will need either cash, check or credit card.
We cannot guarantee that you will get a shirt the day of the event if you are not pre-registered. We base our shirt on the number of people that are pre-registered. Everyone will get a shirt, but you may have to wait if you walk-up to register.
Q - Is this a handicap friendly event?
A - Yes, the race is handicap friendly. Wheelchairs, both manual and electric are welcome. Please position yourself near the back to ensure safety for all participants.
Q - Will there be showers available after the race?
A - Yes, the Fercho YMCA will provide showers.
Q - Will there be awards?
A - Yes, we will provide awards for the top 3 men and women in both the 5k & 10k. We will post age group results for both events as well. To get people back to their families for dinners, we will not have an awards ceremony.
